🥣 Cardamom buns for slow weekends
Somewhere between calm and cozy—warm, a little sweet, a little messy. Just like weekends should be.
✨ What you’ll need
For the dough- 250 ml warm milk
- 75 g butter, melted
- 50 g sugar
- 7 g dry yeast
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 400 g flour
- 80 g butter, softened
- 80 g brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cardamom
- 50 ml water
- 50 g sugar
🧡 How to make them
- Mix & rise. Combine milk, sugar, and yeast; let foam. Add butter, salt, cardamom, and flour. Knead until soft and elastic. Cover and prove ~1 hour.
- Roll & fill. Roll into a rectangle. Spread butter–sugar–cardamom. Fold like a letter; slice into thin strips.
- Twist & shape. Twist each strip into a swirl or knot. Place on lined tray; cover; rest 20 minutes.
- Bake & brush. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 12–15 minutes, until golden. Simmer syrup, then brush warm buns for a soft glossy finish.
